2009. What A Year!

E-mail Print PDF

Here we are, off to the start of a brand new year!

Having recently contributed over $18,000 to charities that directly benefit children, the North Perimeter Optimist Club ended the 2009 year with a burst of giving, contribution and love to those we hold dear to our hearts; the children right here in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Dedicated to continuing the amazing programs and events we implement for under-privileged children, we  intend to make 2010 our best year ever! In addition to our priority being 'Bringing out the BEST in kids,', we find much satisfaction in enjoying each other as well.  With members as diverse as the children we serve, we meet weekly and fellowship over breakfast and are entertained by our weekly Guest Speakers. Speakers who have mesmerized us with their knowledge.   With speakers presenting topics ranging from politics, economics, health issues, civil war. You name it, we have had a speaker present it! We even had a gentleman who parachuted into all 50 states and another who had authored his very own children books!

Being an Optimist is more than an attitude, it is an altitude!  It keeps you soaring, even when you are flying low. So, how do you become an Optimist?

The BEST way to become and/or continue to be an Optimist is to join an organization that has such a creed that continuously and consistently remind you to.....

PROMISE YOURSELF…

  • To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
  • To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
  • To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
  • To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
  • To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
  • To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
  • To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
  • To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
  • To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
  • To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Join us...whether you're an Optimist or not! For, if you are...we welcome your optimism, and if you’re not, we promise to make an Optimist out of you!
